Our Programs
Primary classes at KRM follow an Individualized Education Plan combined with an adapted curriculum, helping each student build literacy, numeracy and social skills.
Ennum Ezhuthum
CLASS I – V (A – SECTION) — ENNUM EZHUTHUM
"Ennum Ezhuthum" (எண்ணும் எழுத்தும் — "Numbers and Letters") is the Government of Tamil Nadu's foundational literacy and numeracy mission for primary classes. It builds strong reading, writing and arithmetic skills through play-based, activity-driven learning aligned with the Samacheer Kalvi curriculum, so every child achieves grade-level competency at their own pace.
Key Features of the Program
- Target Group: Students from Classes 1 to 3 in government and government-aided schools.
- Primary Objective: To bridge critical learning gaps caused by pandemic-related school closures.
- Pedagogy: Uses storytelling, play-based activities, picture cards, and customized teacher training rather than rote memorization.
Samacheer Kalvi Framework
Samacheer Kalvi (Uniform System of School Education) in Tamil Nadu, when combined with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), refers to the adaptation of the state's standardized curriculum to meet the specific learning needs of children with disabilities (CwSN).
Accessible Curriculum
Under this framework, while students follow the same 5, 10, 12th-grade curriculum, the instruction, assessment, and materials are tailored for accessibility.
Support Services
IEPs often include specialized support such as, but not limited to, remedial classes, special education for slow learners, behavioral training, and therapeutic interventions (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy).
Implementation
IEPs are developed in consultation with parents, teachers, and specialists, focusing on the "least restrictive environment," meaning students are educated alongside their peers whenever possible.
